That had a lot more soul and has aged better over the years. Even Akira or any other anime that was put out over a decade ago is preferable to this ….

Re: The Clone Wars, The First Animated Star Wars Film

I was at the midnight showing of the new Indiana Jones, and had to stifle a laugh. Then I noticed other people doing the same. Then we all noticed each other, and the whole theater erupted in uproarious laughter.

The slogan is what did it, I'll betcha $50...
"It's Star Wars... like you've NEVER seen before!"

Well, that's for sure. I don't think this was the response Lucas was going for. Regardless, I look forward to some day watching this fine piece of cinema at Bad Movie Night.

Re: The Clone Wars, The First Animated Star Wars Film

Did they accidentally release a rendering preview as a trailer? I agree with the previous commenter, this is an unfortunate departure from Tartakovsky's style. Wooden and soulless.

Re: The Clone Wars, The First Animated Star Wars Film

That looks fantastic... for a video game.

For a feature length movie, not so much.

They would have done better with that fantastic 2D animation they used for the Clone Wars cartoon (on Amazon). That come out in 2003, so it must not be the show referenced in your post.

Re: The Clone Wars, The First Animated Star Wars Film

I don't know how I feel about the style it's like 3-D version of the animated series.

Re: The Clone Wars, The First Animated Star Wars Film

Wow. I liked the Genndy Tartakovsky cartoons a lot, but I *really* don't like the animation style on this new series. Lucas is beating a dead horse and hoping more cash comes out of it at this point.
