Well this isn't Exactly comparable, but this reminds us of Jay Rosenblatt's film "Human Remains" about the banality of evil... like watching Mussolini eating a ham sandwich... ok, ok a juxtaposition over-the-top!...? But then, just how far off is the founder of Microsoft from being the Republican's Albert Speer??

In any case, this clip is nauseatingly cute and another low pt. in the brief history of Squid's nod to corporate art brain liquidation thru advertising.

What are they trying to sell?! That your sandwich is no different than their $300 million sandwich ?? And can't we all just be cuddly friends now as the economy spirals into generations worth of debt and still no sign of sustainability from the kings atop the burning plastic rubbish piles.

This ad is BRILLIANT! It's obviously designed to promote Apple (while masquerading as a Microsoft ad), and it does a superb job.

Apparently, Bill Gates has finally realized that Microsoft is a lost cause, and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation has invested in Apple stocks. Smart move, Bill.

This pleases me to no end. Get the last two guys in the world who need to do anything for money, accept the possibility that Vista will never turn into lemonade, and (probably) write into the contract total creative control for the piece. I actually like this. And we've always known that Bill has a sense of humor.

I especially like that the photo on Bill's discount card is his old mugshot from Albuquerque.

Absolutely brilliant. No, it doesn't promote Vista. No, it doesn't address user frustration or dissatisfaction. But it's a hell of a start from CP&B at finessing the stodgy MSFT brand. Far better than any Get a Mac piece.
