Laughing Squid: Fail Whale Ate My Balls, Celebrate Twitter Downtime With Style

If the "ate my balls" part wasn't there I wouldn't even think twice about it, I would pull out my credit card and buy it right now, but because whoever thought this up didn't realize that a shirt that has a picture of the fail whale on it that underneath simply says "Fail Whale" is good enough, they have to put something on that offends people.

(It doesn't offend me, but I wouldn't be able to wear it in most situations and therefore, I can't buy it).

I'm not even sure I could wear the shirt you describe, my office is pretty strict. Can't they just make one without the whale or any words?
  • thespy · 1 year ago
I'm agreeing with both michael and fred, why can't they make a tee without the semi-offensive tagline, i wouldn't hesitate to go right ahead and buy one if that was the case. not now.

Hi kids. I'm the guy who made the shirt. This is the shirt *I* wanted to make. So I made it. You're free to buy it, you're also free *not* to buy it.

More importantly; if somebody out there isn't making the thing *you* want, why not go ahead and just make it yourself, rather than yappin' that they made choices you wish they hadn't?

Apparently there's a need for a non-offensive Fail Whale t-shirt. I suggest you gentlemen seize that opportunity by the balls.

I can't believe people don't know their web history! Ate my balls is a venerable part of internet lore, just as Fail Whale will be someday, and they belong together.

Hey now, everyone's got their own way of expressing themselves with regards to the fail whale. And like Anil says, this is an Internet lore portmanteau.
