Well done, stick to your guns and be persistent. It is a shame Ebay can be so good at some things but fall short on others, namely cusotmer service and security. One would think those primary!

phew! what a crazy thing to go through, just to make a gesture of goodwill. sounds like eBay is easy to spoof, and very unsecure. congratulations on raising some fat funds for the EFF, you really did a great thing here -- especially considering how odd the "gift" was in the first place. yay Scott and yay EFF!

What the point to buy this computer on eBay for #3,650 when you can buy it on Amazon for $1,945.34 and Windows VIsta Ultimate for another $250.

If somebody want to donate money to EFF it could be done without this auction and will be tax-deductable.

I'm lost, could you give me at least one reason to buy it on eBay (beside you was touching this particular laptop). :-)
